Muhammad Mobaidul Islam

Biography

Muhammad Mobaidul Islam received his Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology in 2009. In 2018, he joined the North Carolina A&T State University to pursue his Ph.D. degree. His research interests include “Vision-based Control,” “Computer Vision,” “Pedestrian detection”, and “Self-driving cars”. He is a member of Autonomous Cooperative Control of Emergent Systems of Systems (ACCESS) Lab.


  1. On Sep 30, 2022, My Journal paper got acceptance in IEEE T-ITS.
  2. On June 14, 2021, My team got 3rd position in the dynamic challenges at the SAE AutoDrive challenge competition 2021.
  3. On January 18, 2021, Outstanding presenters at the 2020 edition of the Next Generation Transport Systems conference

  • Developed and implemented several deep learning based pedestrian detection and tracking methods.
  • Developed test-bed for self-driving cars.

Sr. Electrical Engineer / Stitching Bangladesh Accord Foundation, Bangladesh

  • Inspected around 500 factories that are conducted under the NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and British Standards.
  • Review more than 300 Single Line Diagrams that provide safe machine installation procedures and utility cost minimization.

Sr. Software Engineer / SAMSUNG R&D Institute Bangladesh Ltd

  • Work with boot loader setup and firmware configuration for Samsung devices that provide a secure environment for the firmware of 50 models of SAMSUNG devices.
  • Create bridge binary and Roll-back prevention software for Samsung devices that prevent 3rd party model tempering.

  • Developed a low-cost Navigational Light control panel with ATmega 128, and some ships use that as a test basis.
